I just got Partition Magic 8.0 installed everything, and i created a new partion aplied changes and then the computer asked me restart, and then out of no where when it boots up its says Y(i i)Y(i i) and i messed around with the computer a little bit to the point where it would ask me to insert boot disk, and everytime i inserted the boot disk nothing would happen. So i decided to install Windows 98 and from there install Win XP. But my problem is that everytime i try to install this error comes on in a blue screen:

stop:c000021 unknown hard error
\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll

Any one got an idea what went wrong or how this problem can be fixed.

Thanks.

Does it matter where it got it from?

yeah have you a copy of it? do a clean install not an upgrade...this way you can avoid errors. remebr to use ntfs

\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll

Is there anything that explains how to resolve this?

And this has only happened since you used PM on it? Sounds like it borked the tables there. I guess thats one way to stop piracy - make pirated copies kill their owners hardware. :)

Anyway, my advice would be to grab a windows 98 boot disk with fdisk and start from scratch. wipe all partition data from your primary, then rebuild the partition table using fdisk. Not as easy as PM, but it'll get the job done.

WARNING : Using fdisk *will* result in the loss of any and all data stored on that hard disk. Yes, everything. That includes the six gigs of pr0n you've been hiding from your wife/girlfriend/mom/second-cousin-twice-removed-three-times-reinstated-and-once-beheaded.

So, you might want to use "partition commander" instead. :P

sounds like PM8 screwed up your Fat Table. You will have to fdisk the drive, maybe even do a low level format and then reinstall the operating system.
