what do you call the exposition type thing in romeo and juliet or when the three witches come on in the very first scene in Macbeth... im racking my brain and i know its a common term but i cant remember it.

i was thinking prologue, but that comes at the beggining of a book... but that might be it. anyone think of anything else?
