Was reading the faq and noticed these changes:


Q: What is new in StyleXP 2.0?
A: StyleXP 2.0 has several important bug fixes to StyleXP 1.0 related to visual styles. In addition, it now supports Boot Screens, Icon Sets, and Taskbar Transparency. You can also edit the Icon Sets to customize the icons for your own look. It has important fixes for new operating systems, and applying wallpaper. It will also soon support (version 2.1) a new themeing feature and a new resource replacement feature for even more skinning. 2.1 is another free upgrade!

Another thing related to icons and sytle xp:
Q: What Icon Sets does Style XP support?
A: StyleXP 2.0 only support the new .iconset and .iconzip file format. However, a free and separate download is available called IconTranslate. This will translate from Stardock's .ip and .iptheme file format as well as Bee Icon's .bit format. We may add more icon set support if there is another file format you would like to see converted.
On a side note, something else i thought was interesting:
Q: How can I get a free registration key?
A: If you find a bug which no one reported, starting with RC1 (not Beta4), and we can reproduce your bug then, we will send you a free registration key. You can also translate one of the XML languages that has not been translated before. If you have posted contributions to themexp.org, we will also be more than happy to give you a free registration key.

I believe the update patch is for earlier versions who do not wish to download the extra themes, boot screens etc... Just the updated files are installed.

RC1 failed to impress me. I already found two bugs last night after the first hour of having it installed.

well report it and post your free key/serial for us all when they send it to ya...lol

The old keys work fine with all previous versions. The only trick is that you have to install version 1.01 first then install all upgrades directly over it. The keys will remain intact. You do this in the same manner that you did with installing kazaa k++ upgrades directly over the previous one. Same principle.

As far as the "bugs", they are truely minor and have already been relayed back to TGT Soft by Lightstar Technologies. The first is the link in the "file" menu. The next is that XP limited users will not be able to run the stylexp start-up service.
