well, i was planning on ocing my old 1900 palominio core amd cpu...but then i realize that my current ram is pc2100(266mhz) so right now its synchronize w/ my cpu fbs.

my mobo doesnt have option to change the multiplier so the only way to oc my cpu is by raising the fbs and i dont think i can oc my rams so the problem is if i raise the fbs, the system ram:fsb ration wont be 1:1. so i was wondering, is it faster to have the fbs and ram speed synchronise, or should i oc and raise my cpu by a couple hundred mhz?

i heard on overclocker forum that having the fbs and ram speed not at 1:1 ratio is very inefficient for amd users.

Indeed, that is very true.
Read the link I posted in Bigdawg's thread about memory timing for an explanation.

I actually have the same cpu as you and PC2100 ram also.I raised my fsb to 143 but have no settings for my ram but my computer definetly works better at 1704mhz than it does at 1600.
My board does have settingfor ram timings and whatnot but I don't think I can OC my ram though. As for changing the multiplier on the Palomino 1900+,I have tried and mine refuses to boot after changing it.
