is there a way to set what search engine your web browser uses when you type search in the address bar and then a word?
yahoo made itself the default search engine when it installed yahoo companion. how would i change it?

Depends which browser. If IE then, read this (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,1055872,00.asp)

I use MyIE2 as a browser which is just excellent.

Google has a hack on their site, if that's what you're looking for.

If you're not, just DL the hack and edit to suit your engine.
