Dam Ping Is Too High

My ping is about 150-160 and i want to lower it down, cus i kept getting killed at CS. Is there away i can lower my ping?

I have DSL

move closer to the server?

Firewall correctly setted?

Any other internet program running in the background? ICQ, MSN, K-Lite....?
Close as many programs as possible and see if it will lower Your ping.
