i think i have asked this before but i couldn't find the thread and i searched and searched.
how does kazaa lites IP blocker work? does it only block IPs (like a firewall would?) when kazaa is open?

The answer is yes. :)
It blocks users within the range of the banned IPs from connecting to you.

so if kazaa was open, it could block ads on websites i go to?

Nope, that's what the HOSTS file does.

If you ever download PeerGuardian, when you try connecting to the RIAA website it will not allow you to access it. However, I wouldn't know if the same works with Kazaa Lite.

Kazaa Lite's internal ip blocklist ( BannedIpRanges.txt ) ONLY blocks ips connecting to/from KL++ -- not where you're web-browsing. In short, that blocklist only 'protects' KL++ -- not the rest of your computer.

How do I update this Ip Block list?

Do I only have to go to Peer Guardians website and download the latest IP Ban list and then replace the 21KB list that I currently have?.

How often should this list be updated?

My list is from October last year I think!.

That option does not exist in my version I have Kazaa Lite 2.4.3!

Can I do it manually like I described in my post above?

The IP blocker should be in the Tools menu on 2.4.3, but it sounds to me as if when you installed 2.4.3 you must have unticked the box so that the IP blocker wasn&#39;t installed.
But it doesn&#39;t matter, because you can still get the IP blocker from http://www.aldostools.com and install it from there. :)
