The latest release from Adobe Photoshop CS, will not allow cheques or currency to be used in image files.
It refuses to open the image, and provides an error
message regarding the (il)legality of currency reproduction and an
"information" button that takes you to the web.

counterfeiting technology has kept up

trivial app like photoshop will not produce "convincing" fake banknotes.

dont even think about it, it's illegal

Now that Sharedholder has once again found the solution to the problem.

Just a question, but how the fuck would photoshop know if your going to scan money ?

The form of a money would give it off. For example a rectangle with a circle in the middle might tick it off.

it could have something to do with when you hold it up to the light (UK) you see the queens head thing in the middle.

Photoshop CS Adds Banknote Image Detection, Blocking?
Seems this latest version of Adobe's flagship product has the built-in ability to detect that an image is of American currency. Something has been built into Photoshop's core coding that can detect something in images of currency and will prevent the user from opening the file. Apparently it will also do this with Euro notes; info on other currency is pending.
