"New adobe software will send your name and serial number to adobe. This includes photoshop 6 and 7, and illustrator 9 and 10. This can be disabled though. First Make sure to physically disconnect your computer from any internet connection during the installation of any new adobe software. Once the software is installed do the following:

Locate any files named AOM or adobeweb.dll
Throw These Away

(In my Windows 2000 systems, adobeweb.dll lives in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Web", and I don't seem to have any AOM files. I'm not sure under what circumstances they are installed or created.)

If you follow these step your adobe applications will no longer attempt to connect to adobe servers to report registration information.

If you find yourself feeling uncomfortable about deleting these files or folders, simply rename them something else. (I usually don't bother to delete. Rather I just prepend an underscore to the beginning of each name.) call it adobeweb.xxx"

(i guess you could also block it with firewall)

Those that have the TDA release of Photoshop CS needn't worry.
AOM.exe and adobeweb.dll were both removed from the install.

The TDA release is a hacked copy of Photoshop CS that doesn't require product activation.
TDA (The Divine Alcoholics) is an underground cracking group.

There were originally 2 warez releases of Photoshop CS:
One by a group called Paradox which wasn't cracked properly
Later came the TDA release, which was.

I got my copy with BitTorrent... no idea if it's on the FastTrack network.. sorry.

Edit: I just remembered seeing it on the eDonkey network a while ago... so you might want to try there.

Good Luck. :)

Hehe, I've not heard of any cracking groups that weren't underground! :)

Why do people say things like that and "rear brake light" when there's none on the front of a car, or "front headlight" as if they're on the back as well. :D

Most of the time it was probably real bad being stuck down in a dungeon. But some days, when there was a bad storm outside, you'd look out your little window and think, "Boy, I'm glad I'm not out in that."
