Deusx:iw, Is This Normal?

I just installed this game and i dont know why it is so slow!!!!
I cant even move the mouse!!!!!!!!!!!!! :frusty:

I already tried to:

Play in 800*600
Turn everything off
check FSAA and AA to be Turned off
download latest Nvidia Drivers
download latest DirectX
kick the hell out of my monitor :angry: :angry: :angry:

I dont know what else to do, i can play UT2K3 and many other new games with everything turned on, 1024*768 and still get 60+ FPS :helpsmile:


BTW, my specs are:

Atlhon XP 2600+
Fx5600 256MB
512 DDR RAM

heh i was able to play my UT2K3 very well with my pos 32mb

Blame everything wrong with it on the x-box. I have to run everything on the lowest settings just for it to be a little playable. Although there is a 1.1 patch out, but i think it only edits the cfg file. You could try that and see if it does anything for it. Good luck

Like the guy above me said, the 1.1 patch.

Ion Storm didn't bother configuring the game for PC very well, at all.

Downlooad that and your problems will be gone!

Download the patch and you will be able to turn off shadows and a few other things. Still the hungriest game out there at the moment IMO, you wont see a great difference but it might make it a bit more playable. It struggled patched with an Athlon 2800/1Gb ddr400/G4Ti4600, aimed primarily at top end cards.

1: Install the 1.1 Patch (http://catmanofiowa.com/DXIW/DXIW_1.1_Patch.exe).
2: Use the DX:IW Tweaker (http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&langpair=de%7Cen&u=http://www.deusexzone.info/downloads.php%3Fload_id%3D454%26filename%3DDXIW_Tweaker.exe&prev=/language_tools) to change the CacheSizeMegs to 32.
3: Turn shadows off ingame (instant 30% FPS improvement).
