I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand it&#39;ll be nice to play games on your TV without any hassles like constantly defragging, disabling screen savers and virus scanners, downloading hardware drivers, etc. But on the other hand, I can&#39;t believe all PC games will work on it, especially since it runs XP. That means most old DOS games are out of the question. There are at least three consoles like this coming out soon, so there must be something good about them. I trust APEX because they make great DVD players, but right now the price is a little too high. While I don&#39;t plan on buying one of these things, I am interested to see how well they work.

If it is, I recall, back in the day of the old intel 486dx2/66 that the old Cyrix procs were hounding Intels heels and biting them on the proverbial ass at times. dont knwo what the f*ck your on but by your Console taste you must be like 10. so i&#39;ll let this one slide, oh and sorry the GC just cant compete with the Ps2, especially Game library wise. and the statistics prove the Ps2 is the best system out, it has sold over 60 million consoles and just under 3 billion games. while the GC is under 10 million consoles and barely only sold 1/3 of the games.

Why oh Why do people persist in saying that ALL Xbox games are Ports of their PC counterparts... Bullshit&#33;&#33;&#33;....You will have that Crossover between PC and Xbox (they have similar architecture) that much is true...But it is a little un-educated on your part to presume that nearly all Xbox games are a Port/Conversion/whatever of a PC game...I know for a fact that the Xbox versions of the games I mentioned previously are handled by a different Development team (another company in fact) than that of the PC version development team....Turn round to those guys and tell them &#39;thanks for the 2 years hardwork you spent on copying that PC game...Call that work&#33;&#33;&#39; and see if they would&#39;nt tell you to go &#39;F**K k ya self&#33;&#39;....

There a stack of games available on the Xbox that are not just First Person Shooters or PC ports...games that are Original ( I kid you not&#33;&#33;)...Its just a shame that Game developers have been so Blinkered in there devotion to the PS2..without giving the Xbox much of a chance (which by the way as been commented on many times as been a hell of a lot easier to develop for than the PS2)..

PS2 is inferior technology.. it was 12 months ago. Yes it has a large catalogue of games, but c&#39;mon the majority of those suck..you could list all PS2 games and 70% of them you would have never heard of/or played...So dont give me that balls people about this big back catalogue..Play games on Superior technology...with less games..Yes&#33; But more polished&#33;&#33;

actualy i do own both i use my x-box for a coffe table i haved oned about 3 or 4 ps2&#39;s (freaking dre error) ps2 is better xbox has gayass controlsers) and not the best games, SONY is "teh shit" and always has been ;) END OF DISCUSSION

p.s. just got the newer ps2. it&#39;s quieter, progressive scan dvd player, built in infared dvd control, upgraded dvd remote (sold seperatly), and reads dvdr-&#39;s now. ahhh&#33; now, only if sony would just release a ps2 model that has all that, but also comes with a hard drive and a nic preinstalled for &#036;200. then, there would be no question. oh, and i not talking about that psx bs either. that shit cost &#036;800 or something and is a joke.

I&#39;m with ya, I love many of the games on Gamecube, play them all the time. It might not have the collection PS2 has or the graphic ability of the X-box, but it&#39;s my favorite of the 3.

I would say though, what sucks about the GC is that game companies aren&#39;t releasing good games for it, some of my favorite series of games have only been released on X-box and PS2, like Legacy of Kain: Difiance, & Baulder&#39;s Gate: Dark Alliance II.

Help a brother out, release some good games for the GC too.

Both have 128 bit graphics and are capable of running game with high textures and frame rates. Cube uses Dolby Pro Logic II. It&#39;s a system that simulates surround through less channels. The effect is very convincing , and IIRC it&#39;s easier to program - but it&#39;s not on the same level as true 5.1

High-rez textures?? On an Xbox??
Not saying that the other consoles are better, but you need to go look at what those community High-rez textures for DX2 look like compared to normal DX2 textures (designed for Xboxes).

Everytime I look at the PS2 selection of games, It makes me regret buying a better system with lesser quality games. So I go home play with my modded xbox, look on my harddrive and choose between the different games I might want to play that day: Halo, Mech Assault, Morrowind. Oh the things that are possible with the XBOX are far and beyond anything the PS2 to could ever do, right out of the box. Not to mention the MOD UPGRADES.
