Best File Type For Songs

Just wondering what ppl think is the best files type for songs eg: wma,mp3
Let me know what file type you think is the best one for size and quality.

Now, I think WMA is totally outta the question. Too bad many ppl are not aware of quality and bad music files, and bad mp3 files...

So, when you rip it usually ends up as *.wav in you PC.
Then it is compressed to mp3.
Or whatever format you prefer.

I like mp3&#39;s. Its maybe not perfect, but it is a Standard.

I&#39;ll have to agree with the MPC
They&#39;ve got the best compression/filesize/quality ratio there is.
Next to that, OGG, then MP3.

Of course, I still encode to mp3, as it&#39;s got a much larger userbase, and damn near everything can play them now.

i do love my high quality mp3&#39;s but they still cant compete with some of the new lossless compression file formats

shn, ape and flac are starting to be trading alot more since people are getting faster connections.
