View Full Version : Very Slow Speeds

I have had my computer running for about 3 days now and all this time the upload slots have been maxed out at 14 kbps, yet my download speeds are less than 1 kbps! Most of the time it's something like 0.6 kbps. and it only stays like that for a few minutes and then takes hours to start up again (only for a few minutes again, and at SLOW speeds)

I know that eMule is not going to be fast, but I this just wont work at speeds this slow. Right now my UL:DL ratio is 7:1 so I am not leeching.

Am I doing something wrong? Oh yeah, and the file I am downloading (i wont say the name) has over 1000 sources (about 1600) so it is not a rare file.

Together the 4 files that I need are 2.5 gigs so I know it will take some time. But at this rate I will be able to use them sometime in July! That's just not good enough.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks you

-Jay

Does anyone search old threads before starting a new one anymore?

Yes, I already read several pages of threads, none related to my particular problem. Most of them had to do with people not being able to connect at all, which is not the case for me as I made clear in my first post.

By "slow" I mean less than 1kbps. I'm not talking about slow compared to Kazaa, but slow compared to the normal speed on eMule.

post all your settings, connection speed, and no of files you set for download, as well as "found sources (all the sources inc no needed parts, on queue, queue full etc" and I'll help ya see if your settings or whatnot is wrong.

Check this for some info if you havent already:

Again: do you have a low ID? If you have, is the Windows Firewall running? If so, turn it off, if not, are you running an other firewall or using a router?

I realize that I was short, but c'mon, don't say that this topic is not covered often. These r threads only from the first two pages:

5 threads that touch on ur question over the past week seems like plenty. Again, I know I was a bit grumpy that morning, but..........

Anyway, welcome to eMule and best of luck with configuration. (I highly recommend the FAQ thisiswhoweare directed u to. It is extremely good!) :D
