Does anyone know if I get a hub and i play XBL while someone is using the internet will it slow down XBL

Regardless of what you use your connection is shared between the computers. I have no idea what xbl is but in theory yes, unless your upload is fast enough that it can handle it. It really depends on what your connection is ans what the person is doing. but in a general statement, yes.
