CrystalMX, shell32 + icon set 596 icons

Set created by Mavis @ Neowin

Well, it's done.

Thanks to everyone who helped with this project, and special thanks to elverado for creating Crystal icons in the first place!

CrystalMX is a combination of the original Crystal icon set and the new Crystal SVG set. The icons have been re-named and re-organized to make better sense for Windows users, and are sorted by style and function. The set also contains dozens of custom additions made by me, including icons for virtually every file type commonly used. The icons are available in the following sizes: 16,24,32,48,64,72, and 128.

Thanks to hush66's excellent avi's, and Fizical's hacking, a shell32 is also available for download. The only version currently available is for WinXP Pro, SP1, 6.0.2800.1233. Also available is a shdocvw.dll, version 6.0.2800.1203. Fizical is currently working on other system files and I will post them as they are made available. Finally, I am making the file types template available, so that anyone can easily create their own file type icons - the template is a 72 layer .psd which I used to create most of the custom file type icons.

So, here are the files:

The complete icon set (http://www.mavisxp.com/crystal/crystalMX.exe)

shell32.dll and shdocvw.dll (http://www.mavisxp.com/crystal/shell32-1233.exe)

file types template (psd) (http://www.mavisxp.com/crystal/template.rar)

I have also created a crystalMX homepage, which will be updated as new files are made available, here (http://www.mavisxp.com/crystal)

Well you can change FILE icons in Folder Options-> File Types-> Advanced-> Change Icon. About My Computer, Recycle Bin, etc, it SHOULD be in Theme Options, but can't remember. Lemme look and I'll post again.

EDIT - Ok scratch that about my computer, recycle bin, etc.
Right click desktop-> Desktop-> Customize Desktop-> Change icon

Have fun..... oh by the way if anyone knows of a program for changing these automatically, let us know :)

Bee Icons

Bee Icons - one of the most powerful yet easy to use icon-changing tools, allowing you to replace most of default icons with only a few mouse clicks.
The program is designed for Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP and allows customization of Desktop icons, Start Menu, any Drive or Folder, and of all File Type icons. Using Bee Icons, you can easily change one, a couple, or even all icons (using icon themes).

That shit sucks. If it does not work with icon packager or any other proggie that will change the most common file types icons automatically then it sucks.

You can get the same crystal mx icon theme for icon packager and it changes them automatically for all your general file types. <_<
