Ok..I can build computers do pretty much anything I want to one...but I dont know the diff between flat screen and flat pannel...that was a dumb question and sounded very sarcastic to me but w/e...you think number 2 is good?

DWk
01-25-2004, 02:56 AM
Yea it's good.

I prefer #1 because I like it.

However, I would like to know the refresh rates of the 3rd monitor since that would be a better comparison between the 3.

big dawg you might want to check to see what kind of rebate sales there are tommorrow at best buy. Sometimes they have killer deals on harddrives and monitors...check the sunday ad tommorrow by going to:

http://bestbuy.dailyshopper.com/?h=undefined

and enter your zipcode tommorrow morning, not now because they change it tommorrow

for example, a deal that expires tommorrow morning is:

http://bestbuy.dailyshopper.com/lib/bestbuy//146626_b.JPG

120 GB for $69 after rebate or
$160 for 250 GB after revate

expires tommorrow morning, don't worry they probably will have it again tommorrow

or you could order this tonight (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?CategoryID=cat01043&id=1051384486557&skuId=4654181&type=product&ref=09&loc=01) and print out the rebate forms. Man that is a deal!

http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/images/products/4654/4654181_ra.jpg

Price before:
$50 mail-in rebate
$10 mail-in rebate

Our Price: $129.99

a lot of people cant see the difference between monitors and stuff, and i cant see the difference with most monitors, except between cheap ones and really expaensive ones, and i guess lcds are a lot different too.

But, once i saw my friends monitor (same as mine, before i got mine) that all changed, no other minotr looks as good as this one. my friends dad has some really really expensive one and hes pissed that he speant so much for such crap quality.

Look into the samsung syncmaster 's. Mines got .20mm pitch, very good picture, and very cheap too. 179.99 CANADIAN. only thing i dont like about it is the black lines around the sides of the viewing area, they arent really straight, kindof sems lke they cheaped out on that but overall VEry GOOD MONITOR!

bigdawgfoxx

Yea that's my opinion exactly. That monitor looks SWEET. The black one looks kinda cliche.

BTW as someone said before, I would recommend looking for a SyncMaster. Their pitch is better, specially for gaming ;)

UPDATE!!!!!**********..sorry haha

Ok, best buy is selling a 160GB Maxtor 8MB Cache for $100...only prob is you gotta do 2 mail in rebates...should I just spend 20 more on the net or what?..and Seagates better then maxtor right...

ALSO Office Depot is selling a 19in monitor flat screen with a .20 dot pitch made by KDS...Here it is... (http://www.amazing-bargains.com/officedepot/technology/computers-monitors/monitors/crt-monitors/kds-r-xf-9b-19in-crt-monitor-558866.html)

Now I dont care about the size a TON...17 inch is fine..19 would be awesome tho lol..i just want GOOD color and stuff...on a review they said this one didnt have great color and looked kinda washed out...should I stay with the number 1 view sonic?

This (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-120&depa=1) is the only samsung in my price range..not syncmaster tho i dont think...but .20 dot pitch looks good

bigdawgfoxx
01-25-2004, 03:37 PM
which one do yall think i should get? the viewsonic number 1 or that samsung?

tesco
01-25-2004, 04:03 PM
that samsung is the one i have. its got great picture quality, but i dont know why it says dynaflat, mine says syncmaster 753df on the right bottom side so....

bigdawgfoxx
01-25-2004, 04:07 PM
I dont see it saying sync master...but ok the viewsonic is .25....and the samsung is .20..which i think will make a big diff...should I get the samsung?

Dawg,
I think you are making a mistake by basing your choice only on specs.
Vision is very subjective and a very high spec monitor may not look as good as it sounds.
Is there any way you can actually see these monitors side by side and then decide?

Remember, you'll be staring at this thing for a long time... alittle more research now will pay off in the long run.

Happy?

the highest resolution of the samsung is only 1280x1024 to if you want really high resolutions go with a different one.

I use 1024X768. I read a reviem on the SyncMaster and it sounded good...but on newegg it doesnt say that its a SyncMaster..nor does it have it written in the bottom right corner..whats up with that?

Thanks clocker..I will try to stop by Best Buy sometime.

in the third picture, the driver cd picture, it says syncmaster on the cd.

but that monitor is black and silver, mine just plain old white :(

bigdawgfoxx
01-25-2004, 04:27 PM
ahh...thanks! I didnt see that the cd said syncmaster...now I feel better. The sync master has a .20 dot pitch and got a good review...but dont look as cool..but i still think im going with the syncmaster..but i want to see them at best buy first...THANKS!

tesco
01-25-2004, 04:37 PM
ok but if your looking at them make sure you look at a syncmaster 753DF, not a different number, lots of the other samsung monitors look like crap and the screen is round instead of flat so dont get the wrong impression.

bigdawgfoxx
01-25-2004, 08:12 PM
my damn parents wont take me to freaking best buy...but I think the samsung will be best..ive seen them before and the .20 will look great im sure..

bigdawgfoxx
01-25-2004, 10:43 PM
hmm...I went and looked at the sync master and the viewsonic..couldnt tell much diff at all..i think im gona get the viewsonic

Its wierd tho...the sync master has .20 and the viewsonic has .25...and i cant tell any diff at all really.
