Fastest Speed Download

ok im downloading a 1.14 gigabyte file at 172kb/Sec and so i thought i'd see wat the fastest speeds people get on mirc.

172- its leechers heaven!

you can get up to 3 MB/S .. depending on the bot ur downloading from .. sometimes it appears the upload speed of the bot when u make a search .. like in ircspy and packetnews .. and yup mIRC is heaven itself !

how do i tweak mirc?? i when ever i try dl from people, they are slow and i have to stay in line. when it is my turn, they have very slow upload rates. so, can you guys telll me how to set it correctly? what channel you go to to get 500kb/s? that is crazy stuff! lol

anyway i was wondering Notorious, what that gui is, as it doesnt look like mirc but it looks very nice. Also do you use ircspy to find those servers, or do you have a better way?

Yep, I used IRCSpy to find that particular bot, consequently I forgot which channel it was on :(

And mooseman's correct. I use a theme from StyleXP. It's called lcd4.

You cant really Tweak it you just have to find the right bots.
When you download from sites likeircspy look at the max speed of the bots

You all if you have your own xdcc set up you can download the same movie from yourself and the speed will be exactly the same speed you see NotoriousBIC pic showing!! :lol:

There is no waay in gods green earth that your going to get that download speed no matter what kind of line your using even university lines... If he did have a speed like that he would have gotten caught a long time ago.

Don't believe me? Try it if you are sharing your files on mirc using xdcc. Just type your own trigger and walla..you can download that same file in minutes.

My average speed with a good bot that I download from ranges about 356-389Kb/s

well 300+kb/sec is still pretty impressive!

even if bic was lying other people have said you can get around 3mb/sec.

im searching for madden 2004, its hard enough finding a working bot, nevermind a good download speed!

Actually i know for a fact Bic isnt lying, uploading he can pratically max out everybody on the fasttracker forum at once.

And if you know anything about internet connection you'd know that with a T3 those sorts of speeds are more than possiable.

So although i am insanely jealous since i only get 1Mb broadband, top speed 140kB/s.

he's definetly telling the truth. :D

Then I presume you wouldn&#39;t believe me if I told you we have a total of 1008 of these connections just as mine connected directly to the 10 gigabit backbone of SURFNET in the Netherlands (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/netsol/ns341/ns396/ns301/ns208/networking_solutions_customer_profile09186a00801b10f0.html).

And you also wouldn&#39;t believe me if I told you that I worked my ass off to get a total of 2 million euro funding to get all those peers connected.

I have "just" a 1.5Mbs DSL connection with SBC YAHOO DSL. And that is not just the max. I always get downloads of 150KB/sec. I got some movies frim MIRC with 130-150KB/sec, in fact the limit of my connection and do u know how much I&#39;m paying for this great speed ????

well, &#036;150 for phone + internet.
my shit is goin to change though in about 3 days, cuz i just ordered total connection.
&#036;130 per month and that is cellphone, landline(home phone with unlimited long distance anywhere usa) + internet connection with speed of 6mb/608kpbs.

I wish I lived in a foreign country here in the United Kingdom the max connection normal people can get is 2MB. I&#39;m on 600K and I max out at about 70-75KB/s. :)

From your computer to the modem you have a lan cable (local area network) sort of a small home network, with this you could get speeds of 22Mbps but that is just between two computers which are connected with a cat-5 cable(lan)
From beyond your modem or router you just get the speed you ISP gives you

sounds interesting. I have one question though. I have 2 computers that share the same router. How can i transfer my files on one computer to the other computer. Most of my files are mp3&#39;s and movies and i dont want to burn to cd&#39;s

Im not quite sure as I never used a network myself, but i think with XP they made it pretty easy.

note: I use a german windows version so I most likely wont name everything correctly ;)
open your system controls
go to the network connections and on the left it should say something like setup a new homenetwork then follow the assistant. this should do it :)
