Wmv9 Hd Vs Dvd

this is a side by side compression from dvd and wmv9 hd downloaded from a.b.m.dvd-r it was taken from a west coast feed of hbo hd from a tivo
night and day difference, looks like I'll have to load wmp9 after all.

I see no big difference in the quality of 5th Element - sorry, 7th, but the movie is called 5th Element, isn't it? Although 7th sounds better...

Probably the image is too big, it is bigger than my screen. :( The WMV is a little more sharpen I think.

didn't really know where to put it, figured I'd leave it to a mod to move
could go to movie world or could go to software world cause its wmp encoded
guess its more for software world cause of the comparison between dvd :unsure:

compressing the images with jpeg will also have an affect on their quality.

doom9 (http://www.doom9.org/codec-comparisons.htm) has a massive comparison of all the top mpeg4 codecs i would check that out.

and damn Milla Jovovich is hot in that film. :P
