I want to recover (undelete).
hard drive has not been formatted files were only deleted about 20 meg of files back on the hard drive ( 40 gig disk) they were on deleted off if possible any good programs.

there is about 7,000 files in 10 directories so program has to be good

Addendum: FD has a small footprint (less than 1MB), and is very fast.

Damn, I'm really spamming this thread. :D

Some advice: do not strett that computer. Especially if you only have one physical drive (logic partitions do not matter). In fact, it would be best if you turned off all screensavers, scheduled tasks, etc., shut down your internet connection and all running processes, and left the comp on. Restarting will serve only to overwrite more data.
