Should I Buy A Gamecube?

Should I buy a GameCube for my birthday? I was really only considering it for the upcoming MGS game "Twin Snakes" but there's some other cool games I might like too like that mario kart game and other games I couldn't be bothered to get for ps2 :P

Well as you posted a little bit down, they are alot closer to a working cube emulator than a X-box, so i would get an xbox.

Isn't twin snakes just a remake of mgs1?

True, but I do not think that just improving graphics (i realize there would be a few other extras too) is enough t warrnat buying a system.

GameCube has alot of other exclusives too...Some seem abit childish but some look cool :P

Gamecubes a great system, just not a hell of alot of games for it yet,

And if your an Rpg guy, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is coming out soon, and that ones GC exclusive, so theres another reason next to Metal Gear.

Gamecube does have a lower cost and their old exclusives are really inexpensive now.

Xbox actually has more games going for it than you think though.

1. Xbox has better graphics than all the systems.

2. Xbox has alot of the same good games that others systems have and they are on the X.
ex. Splinter Cell, Need For Speed Underground, Max Payne 1 & 2, Dead To Rights, GTA, Spiderman, ......the list goes on.

3. They have the best online gaming.

4. Their exclusives are not bad either. Make sure you get Otogi, a very underestimated game. It's sorta like Devil May Cry.

But I've got to admit , I was tempted to buy one.

i think gamecubes are rather good i find the graphics to be just as good as that of an XBOX and PS2

not very many good games though mostly crappy cartoon ones like Mario

Yeah I agree, the Gamecube's graphics are wonderful. I just don't like the controller, and the fact that it can't play DVDs, the games are okay.

I would but I think I'd need a credit card. :( Unlike on the PS2, PS2 Online gaming is great. I admit i's not quite as good as X-box Live yet but it's only been out for a little time and with people like EA refusing to but there games online for X-box it should be taking over it in no time. Games like GT4, Killzone Etc coming this year, the only thing it's lacing is downloadable content because of the lack of the hdd...but that problem will be solved soon when sony decide to release the hdd in europe

get a gamecube.... all the games that come out for playstation and xbox usually comes out for PC but game cube never comes out for PC so you should really get a gamecube :D

I just got a Gamecube for Christmas and I'm loving it. So far I have Soul Calibur II, Metroid Prime and the Zelda Collector's Disc.

I'd definitely recommend getting one. :D

The ONLY worth getting on GC are the exclusives but they are really good.
I have all the systems so they all have their place.

GC for exclusives
PS2 for exclusives and online exclusives (like Madden '04)
Xbox for everything else (exclusives and multi-console games)

It's very simple.......if you just have to play Metroid Prime or RE 0 get a GC (that's why I bought it).
Remember though it is the most limited in terms of features of all the consoles.

It was the last system that I bought and I got it for dirt cheap.

I am not going to buy the PS2 HDD because:

1. It should have been included with the original system (like Xbox) so now I'm supposed to spend MORE money for an add-on.
2. I think the price will be too high.
3. I'm skeptical of how many games will utilize it.

i love my gamecube! i'm a gamer and buy all! sure, it doesn't have that many games, but there are a lot of exclusives on that system. afterall, u CAN play gameboy games on the big screen too!!!

Think about the cost vs benefit.
Like muchpl2 said, a modded PS2 or Xbox is better.
No more paying games.

GC&#39;s are not modded so in the long run you pay more.

i have both GC and XBOX and i must say the box is much more worth it. if u have enough friends LIVE is addictive as shit. when a bunch of my friends come over we play LIVE til like 5:00 in the morning lol. GC is good too but XBOX is the better choise imo. Games like GTA double Pack, Project Gotham, and Counter Strike are worth it alone. not to mention the greats such as Halo.

I&#39;d just like to throw this in. . . . No it can&#39;t. Whoever told you it could was lying. The only way to play backups with a GC is via the BBA and PSO. That&#39;s it. Small dvd disks will not work in the system. . . This is how incorrect information gets spread. :rolleyes:

I agree about the games. PS2 has just a better selection as a whole. But the gamecube has the best looking graphics and the xbox has the most power. I have a PS2 and a gamecube, but I still plan on getting an xbox just so I can mod it. The Xbox works like the all in one box, so it&#39;s still a good system.
