Is it possible?

Internal harddrive turned into an external usb harddrive?

Are there any kits, or instructions on such a thing?

Thanks

what do you mean by external hard drive to usb hard drive?

do you want to hook up a hard drive externally form the computer via usb, if you do then it is possible, there are lots of different hard drive caddys you can buy.

if not then please explain.

okay, what you'll want to look for is a hard drive enclosure. nowadays they make 'em with usb 2.0 & firewire compatibility. i think they may have made some that work with the older usb version, but the original usb was slooooooooowwwww (it was designed for mice, joysticks, printers, etc, not hard drives). so make sure you have a usb 2.0 or firewire connection.

Tigerdirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com) is one vendor I can think of.

Nothing new here. Should $40-50, maybe less. Shop around.

Yep, I bought an enclosure two days ago and put one of my 120 gb drives in it. It cost me £40 ($60), prob. could have saved money online.
