what up ppl?

i downloaded a couple albums from mIRC but intotal 10 songs cannot be correctly assigned to be played to any player automatically. Instead I would have to manually assign a player to activate it everytime. Is there a program to fix this problem. I tried mp3 fixer but it does not pickup those particular files to be played. Anyone please?

Do you realise that you've posted the same question 3 times?

To fix your problem, I recommend using Winamp 5.01 to play your mp3 files. To ensure they always play in Winamp, right click on an mp3 file and select 'Open With' and make sure you select Winamp from the list. Make sure the box is also ticked where it asks you to 'Always Do Selected Option'.

while trying to send the post i got a message stating to wait 20 secs and also copy and paste then try again - so i think that is the reason why this happen so often.

I do not have the option to "Open with" when i right click to assign the properties. Of 18 songs on one album onley 5 songs cannot be assigned (Winamp 5.01).

Please ensure these are *actually* mp3's you are talking about.

When I suggested the above method, this was to be done outside of Winamp (where your mp3's are located).

your directives were correctly understood and applied but it still does not work, would I have to download those files individually.

Hmmm...

Open up the following link in another browser and click 'Open'. Let me know what program automatically comes up, or if nothing does, and you have to choose look for Winamp and ENSURE the box is ticked for automatically detecting the file ext.

I suggest using WinMX for downloading your mp3's.

I'm not quite sure how you can't figure all of this out, so I'm gonna give it a shot........

pictures included.......

right click the file and select properties (should be at the bottom)...............
http://myimages.fourvalve.com/dgmortal/images/rightclick.gif

after clicking on properties, you should see this.....
http://myimages.fourvalve.com/dgmortal/images/properties.gif

click on change in the properties dialog and you will see this.......
http://myimages.fourvalve.com/dgmortal/images/openwith.gif

now select winamp from the list. if you do not see it in the list, click on the browse button and go to the folder you installed winamp to, and choose the winamp.exe file (not winampa.exe). make sure to check the box next to "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" before you click ok.

Note: If you still do not see "Opens with:" anywhere, please download and install a Microsoft® Windows® operating system  .

Everyone knows that SoulSeek (http://www.slsknet.org/) is truly the best way to get quality music files........but thats just my opinion :P .
