Nearly all cd-r spindles have a 'fake' cd at each end (I assume their function is to protect the outer cd's in the stack)

Never had a coaster with these (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=43225). I normally burn at 48 or 52, no problems at all.

They're what I use aswell, they're the only ones I can find on a spindle but I normally buy the ones in cases.

Yea Infiniti are really good.
There was a test done a while back and DataSafe came first with 0.1% errors. I've used them before and never had a problem. Also, Verbatim, Bulkpaq and TraxData are decent brands to use.
