If you have any questions ask me.
I made this thread just for people who are curious about trojans and how to prevent them, attack ports, and even how to identify a trojan. :o

Anyways come to this link.

Trojan List (http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=18647)

Just tell me what you think.

How do I identify a trojan?

GrubMe

Trojans are executable programs, which means that when you open the file, it will perform some action(s). In Windows, executable programs have file extensions like "exe", "vbs", "com", "bat", etc.

*Beware of hidden file extensions! Windows by default hides the last extension of a file, so that innocuous-looking "susie.jpg" might really be "susie.jpg.exe" - an executable trojan! To reduce the chances of being tricked, unhide those pesky extensions.

If you do not know what is a Windows file extention. Here is a link to show what is a Windows File Extention (http://www-1.gsb.columbia.edu/cis/security/showEXT2000.pdf) and how to configure it. Note: Be careful what you configure, you need Acrobat 5.0 and up to read. *Windows 2000, 98, XP (Approved)*

Wow! An innocent looking picture can really be a trojan? :o

What would happen if I executed a trojan infected file?

*Don't be lulled into a false sense of security just because you run anti-virus programs. Those do not protect perfectly against many viruses and trojans, even when fully up to date. Anti-virus programs should not be your front line of security, but instead they serve as a backup in case something sneaks onto your computer.
Finally, don't download an executable program just to "check it out" - if it's a trojan, the first time you run it, you're already infected!

No problem, always have a full system scan every month or 2 months or depends by you.

The worst trojan?
Any trojan is worse.

He means the worst trojan that does maximum damage and is tricky to remove. :)

A program that provides a layer of security to protect the user's computer from a computer virus.

And yes, I know what the binary reads. :P

Just because I know what it is doesn't mean there aren't any people who don't know...

Any scheme that uses two different states, components, conditions or conclusions. In mathemathics, the binary or base-2 numbering system uses combinations of the digits 0 and 1 to represent all values. The more familiar decimal system has a base of 10 (0-9). Computers and other digital devices are designed to work with information (internally) in the form of binary numbers, because it is relatively simple to construct electronic circuits that generate two voltage levels ("on" and "off", corresponding to 1 and 0) Unlike computers, people find binary numbers that consist of long strings of 0s and 1s difficult to read, so most people who work at this level use hexadecimal (base-16) numbers instead.
