im so sick of the "window messenger" pop ups. every times one pups up, cs get minimize and i usually get killed. if i leave my comp on for abotu 8 hours, i will end up closign about 50 of them. how do you get rid of these things...i dont think regular pop ups blocker will work. its not the cookies or w/e cuz i formated my hdd

The simple way is to use this (http://www.grc.com/stm/shootthemessenger.htm) tool.
The more complex way is to disable the messenger service by running "services.msc" through command prompt and stopping "Messenger"

Get ride of Windows Messenger:
Right click here (http://www.home.no/k-lite/windows_messengerXP_remover.zip) and choose save as.
Unzip the file and run the file.
Download MSN Messenger instead.

The pop-ups have nothing to do with windows messenger [B][O][T] ;)
Do as 4th gen said and it'll work fine :D
btw, if you have SP1 installed you can removed windows messenger via add or remove windows componants B)

why do you guys use a program
1.start > run
2. type services.msc then hit enter
3. ???
4. disable messenger
5. profit

The messenger service RULES - I like to mess with my friends at the uni, sending messages like "Thank you for infecting your computer with MyDOOM. Press OK to start hard drive deletion" :P
A friend got REALLY scared yesterday lol. :lol:
