I want to add google adds and i want to customise it to show like this one :

Copy and paste in to your browser to see how it looks

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?client=ca-rydium_120x600&random=1075576158409&adsafe=high&lmt=1075576158&format=120x600_sln&output=html&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.neowin.net%2F

I already received the script from google but its very different and too big for my site, btw it looks like this:

<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-6506310831839459";
google_ad_width = 728;
google_ad_height = 90;
google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
google_color_link = "0000FF";
google_color_url = "008000";
google_color_text = "3333FF";
google_color_border = "FF9900";
google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
//--&#62;</script>
&#60;script type="text/javascript"
&nbsp; src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/page

How can to be modified to look like the first tiny script?

In google adsense settings, simply chose the Skyscraper (120x600)
and then create a custom pallete of the colours you want.

[Your not charged for the above advice, a click of the yellow google ad on my site will do :P]

Whats the difference between the types of ads. Does it matter which one you use (I tend to use the small two bar horizontal one). Also when you ads to a page and it gets spidered will it be added to the google search engine or not (google seemed to imply they were two separate bots and services).

Having google ads will not effect your posistoin in search egines and theres no diffference to how much you earn with the different formats , only difference is how its shown, so its best to experiment and see what works best for you and your site. :)
