When you visit some sites they display the number of users online (e.g. 6 users online) how do you do this on a normal html page. You need a script of some sort but what does it look like (coding), what language is it in (PHP, javascript) and where do you put it (cgi bin?). Is it possible to do this yourself (easily) or do you get it from a site like bravenet (http://www.bravenet.com).

Users online Users today (http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/17201.html) (PHP)

See here and search for more in categories. (http://www.hotscripts.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?bool=AND&query=users+online&catid=all)

It has to be a serverside script so in php/perl not in javascript. You can notify thought javascript if you want. Go on those pages it is fairly easy to use those scripts. Let us know if you need help in installation.

The fastpike one worked well. The site seems to have disappeared now though :(

Do you have to be a member of hotscripts to download some of their stuff as the "download" bit of some of the sections is hard to find.
