1. B
2. what board?

Do you know there is no overclocking support on that board?

NO!!!! YOU MEAN EPOX 8RDA3+!!!!!

Epox is generally regarded as a better overclocker, and ASUS is generally regarded as more reliable.

also,

1. B if you plan to overclock at all.
2. You know, sound quality among most audio chipsets, is really hard to tell apart.
3. Depends on the setup of the Board itself, I know my Nforce sound, (MCP-T) has its own sound controller, (98% sure) so though its hardware sound, that doesnt mean its not set apart from the CPU itself.
4. Yes.
5. Yes.

John is suggesting you get the Epox board as opposed to the ASUS board

Another question

6. As stated in the videos here http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Produc...%5e6678,00.html (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_3734_4348%5e6678,00.html)
When your using your cpu for along time without taking the heatsink off you should use a thermal pad instead of thermal grease. Is this true?

A. Yes use a thermal pad
B. No you should use thermal grease

Use Artic Silver 5 - the "best" thermal compound you can get :)

I did kinda answer the question!

Pads are easier to use and last longer (but isnt as good!)

Grease is harder to apply (propaly), but gives better results and doesnt last aslong.

Artic Silver 5 is made of silver  and is the best thermal compund you can get :)

@livy Thats the one I was looking at, at the same price too

Uhh how long does thermal grease last? If you are only the computer like 12 hrs a day

2. Does onboard ac97 have good sound quality? My on-board realtek seems fine to me but then I haven't got 5.1 speakers to fuck around with.

3. Does onboard ac97 sound drain your cpu?Hmm, depends on the chipset, but if you've got a Barton 3000, how much of that can sound processing actually take?

4. Does the brand name AOC make good monitors?I have an AOC Spectrum 7vlr which has stood me well for 4 or 5 years. Looks pretty good to me, even if the max resolution is 1200x1024 @ 60Hz. At the cheaper end of the market, I'd have liked a Hansol when I was buying but I was £50 short of the £200 required.

5. Does the brand name BenQ make good monitors?[/quote]AFAIK they're an OK brand; their CDRW drives seemed to be respected when they were called Acer.
