I used to download everything with Kazaa. But Kazaa has very few sources and only for some games, not most. So downloading anything takes forever and that is if you can even find it on kazaa.

And if you have tried the smaller versions of some games that are available on Kazaa, I think you can agree that it doesn't give the full capacity as a full game copy on a cd or an image file.

Well, I hope you will agree that best way to go is to get the full cd/image version of (almost) any game.

I have tried Emule, then Overnet, and then Edonkeys. The problem with these P2P is that it crashes other softwares and/or one's computer. The other problem is that Emule is slow. And they all crashes Kazaa, so that Kazaa must be reinstalled to use it again, but only to be corrupted again until one fully uninstall these other P2Ps. These softwares didn't even come with a proper uninstalling component when I tried them a couple of months ago.

Anyway, so many people were telling me to use Bit Torrent to get these games I wanted, but I was reluctant to because of these previous bad experiences with Emule, Overnet, and Edonkeys. I forgot to mention that I also tried ShareAza, and it also interfered with my other software.

Anyway, I finally got so frustrated with Kazaa that I decided to give Bit Torrent a shot. I was told that Bit Torrent doesn't work at the same time with Kazaa, but they don't conflict with each other. Well, guess what guys.

Bit Torrent is much faster than Kazaa because you can share partial downloads. It also has options for checking for errors, so you don't need to hardly ever redownload any file. Kazaa is notorious for errors, especially with iso image files (that is why original crack images are in Bin formats, which aren't prone to errors).
Bit Torrent has much more full CD/image games than Kazaa that are downloadable. You won't believe this, but Bit Torrent can be used at the same time as Kazaa. Yes, you can run both at the same time. I use Shadow's version and there are no conflicts--none I am aware of. I don't know about other versions though.

One more tip, get WinIso and Virtual CD to play these games. Use WinIso to convert any image format to an ISO format. Then mount the ISO image with Virtual CD. Then you can play the game directly from the ISO image without having to burn the image on a CD. Once you know that the image works, use it to burn yourself a backup copy of the game so you won't lose it when you catch a virus from these software companies's hackers.

There is a tip for using WinIso. To make a working ISO image with WinIso, you must open an image file through the "file" menu tab and browsing for the file, then select "save as" and selecting a location and give it a name. It doesn't work all the time if you use the "convert any image to ISO image" tab.

There is a tip for Virtual CD. Any version 5 keygen will work on the latest version of Virtual CD. Oh, if you don't know what Virtual CD is, it just emulates a CD-rom. So the game thinks that it is being run from a CD-rom instead of your hard-drive. Thus, you don't need to burn the image to a CD. Cool huh.

Enjoy!!!

You guys will be surprised but so many people have downloaded my NFSU with Kazaa. I have spent over about 2 whole months just uploading solely it almost 24/7. And it is hogging up all of my bandwidth, but they are newbies, and they don't know about Bit Torrent. I try to tell them, but most people block incoming messages. Anyone using Bit Torrent can get it, but these newbies don't know about Bit Torrent. So if I stop uploading it, they will have a difficult time getting it. And most don't even visit the forum, so they are completely unaware of the "underground network." Either way, they are lost. Thus, my message above is to try to catch and save those per chance that comes my way. So you guys should help me spread the message, not poke fun at it. Hehe. Anyway, please let me know if this message help you ok. Give me some support, or else I am not going to try to help anymore newbies, including uploading the freaking NFSU. Hehe. (Disregard this last bit about stopping helping out. Just kidding.)

Sorry, but any P2P only goes as fast as the uploader, hence one can't be faster than another just working on that like you said.

Testing Kazaa with T3 and testing BT with 56k isn't fair, is what I'm basically saying.

Kazaa is mostly fast for me 95% of the time. I use kazaaIgnite with kazaa and it speeds the downloads up quick. I can't find a working link for kazaaIgnite but im glad I saved the file for it on disk just incase something happens to my PC. Im a member of the suprnova forums and there not as good as the kazaa lite forums.....there boring over there.

In regards to Kazaa vs. Bit Torrent (BT) speeds, let me explain why BT is faster than Kazaa.

You are right that your download is as fast as your uploads. Thus, if you only have a 56k modem, you can download at a max of about 5 to 6kb/s. Because your downloading speed is so slow, it is not too hard to find enough sources to upload for smaller files or larger files with a lot of sources. For the rarer sources, like that of a big application or game, you may or most likely not be able to find enough sources to keep you running at 5-6kb/s 24/7. For someone with a faster connection like my cable modem, where I can download in the order of hundreds of kb/s, I am limited by the number of uploads. And most of the time for these rarer sources, I can find enough sources for downloading that fast, and certainly not anywhere near 24/7. I would be happy if i can download as fast as my upload, which is only 37.5kb/s, which would still be faster than my downloading speed on kazaa with these rarer sources. Thus a fast connection isn't fully used on kazaa.

With these rarer sources, supposed there is only one source, someone would have to download the whole entire file on kazaa before one can share it. But Kazaa never upload to just one person, it always upload to many people--too many. Thus it would take a month before you would get a complete copy. Then you find out that the copy has an error. Damn, back to square one.

With BT, you can share partially downloaded files. Thus, if someone uploads a half to you and a half to me, they would only upload once, and we both can upload to each other at the same time. Thus, this uploading person only has to upload once, and we can upload the rest from each other. Thus, our downloading speed also depends on your uploading speed and my downloading speed.

If there are three downloaders instead of two as above downloading from one uploader, this uploader only has to upload a third to each one of us. He still only upload once, and we just share the different parts among ourselves again. Again, our downloading speed depends on each of our uploading speed.

Thus, the original source only has to upload once no matter how many downloaders there are. And the more downloaders there are, the faster the downloading is actually because the uploading speed among the downloaders tend to add up. I know this is theoretical, and the actual downloading is a little slower than in theory because the size of the chunk being transferred also plays a role in the time--the bigger the chunk size, the slower, since kazaa's chunk size is the whole file, the speed is notoriously slow, hehe.

I know how you feel about kazaa and other P2P. Believe me, I was there. After trying Emule, Overnet, Edonkeys, and ShareAza, I was so skeptical about BT. It took me a good whole two months of urging from our fellow peers here before I finally tried it with a "oh what the hell--outlook."

To my surprised, BT is really much faster, and the files are error-free so far, hehe. BT checks for hash integreity and redownloads any bad hashes--thank god. I can download a big game in the order of 2 Gig in about 1 day, unbelievable, who hoo, whoopie doo.

Oh yes I have gotten one infected file so far, but my scanner took car of it, thank god again. These viruses are everywhere.

But best of all (yes I am a big Kazaa lover), you can still use Kazaa, even when you are using BT. How much better can one get?

I have to admit, BT does have its downfalls though. Some uploading link files are bad and doesn't work and it does take some time before they are fixed, but they are only a minority, thank god again, hehe. BT don't have as many varieties as kazaa for common smaller files, but just use kazaa for that.

There, I don't want to see anyone else downloading my NFSU on Kazaa, because it is slow and futile. But I still upload it just so I know how many people out there who aren't aware of BT.

Help me spread the words about BT ok guys.

Yes I am a newbie, relatively, to the computer world. I don't have too much time for this sorta stuff, but it is fun getting free stuff and learning about computer stuff. Not everyone has as much time as everyone else. There are a variety of people in this world. One must learn to be open-minded. People aren't dumb just because they don't know all of the answers. Everyone has something that one is good at. When you are in a situation where you know that you don't know the answer to something, and other people just think that you are an idiot without really knowing what you are good at and what you are capable of, you will understand not to judge people, but to appreciate that there are a variety of people.

In terms of using BT, I use Shadow's versions. On his website, there are several files, but I think only the following 3 are essential.

1) BitTorrent-experimental-S-5.8.7-w32install.exe 2,897KB
2) BitTorrent-experimental-S-5.8.7.zip 179KB
3) webseed-0.9a.zip 11KB

File (1) is the main program. I installed this one first.

I am not sure what File (2) is as I don't have time to browse around, but I installed it into the same directory as file (1). And I don't have any problem when I try to download something.

File (3) is needed for sharing one of your file with others. And I haven't tried it yet. I just share what I download which doesn't require file (3). (I will eventually get around to it.)

So if you just install the first two files into the same directory, you will be able to download BT files.

To get a download going, go to suprnova.org and download one of their "link file" to the file you actually want to download. Double-click on your saved "linked file" and BT will automatically open the "link file." Select a diretory to save it to and the download will begin. Keep the downloading open if you want to share it. You can also reopen the "link file" after the downloading is done if you want to share it again with others.

Shadows's site also has other light sets, but they aren't necessary for downloading, and thus not needed to be installed.

For more informations and from people who really know their stuff, you can check out the comments under BitTorrentWorld under the general directory of this forum.

Enjoy.

Not everyone is as accustomed to computers are you. Do you think you were when you first started. Do you think your mom, dad, uncle, aunt, granny, or great-granny are as accustomed to computers as you are? Would you call them dumb? Do you really think they are dumb? Do you really think you are smarter than all people who are not accustomed to computers?
