Hi all
I put a couple of songs that a mate did in my shared folder.
But a day or so later, when we went to another machine and did a search for the filename or artist, it came up with no result.
Just wondering why..........
BTW file sharing was on of course.

Probably because only you and your mate are the only ones sharing it,wich makes it not easy to find for the searchengine.Well,it probably won't find it within the first search but normally if you keep searching for it for a while it will show up.

This is what I think could be the reason ofcourse.

something else to keep in mind is that if you encode your mp3s to higher then 128kbs
regular kazaa users won't be able to find them in searchs UNLESS you encode with VBR
as VBR shows up in kazaa as 128kbs :P

Hi Vargas
Thanks for that info.
They were encoded with "Total Recorder" using the Lame DLL at 160kbs so good info.
BUT :helpsmile: could you tell me what VBS is ;)

Cheers

did you shut klite down and open it again and did not see it in your own files??

also next time you want to search your files, like that, make sure the machine is not on the same network, then you need to connect to the same supernode as the one with files and search under everything

VBR = variable bitrate
CBR = constant bitrate

Yes, that is the easy and fastest way you can do it - there is an option
to manually add directories to share on your HD in K-Lite ;)
