Really N00b Stupid Question

i heared only some computers can boot from a cd-rom but if i formatt my computer completely my computer can still boot from a cd-rom right?

Any computer with a CD drive should be capable of booting from a CD-ROM. You might have to change the boot order in the BIOS though.
