Movie Editing

Ok...I am going to buy a cord for my camcorder today, which will allow me to hook it up to my PC.

I want to be able to edit the footage pretty nicely...add words in some spots, fade out other spots...just stuff like that...What will be some good software?

Also, once I edit it...will it edit it on the camcorder too or can i put it on the camcorder? or will it just be on the pc?

depends what format you save it as and if your camcorder supports it

as for software i use adobe premiere but am unsure if it can do what you ask for because i only ever use it breifly

Well it is on an 8mm tape that is inside my camcorder...im guessing it will save it as an MPEG or something...

I've heard Vegas Video (or something like that) is good as well.

Adobe After Effects Pro 6
Adobe Encore DVD
Adobe Audition

I got my premiere6.0 from kazaa. Only downloaded 2, and both worked.

UGHHHH&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33; HOW THE FUCK IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO FIGURE OUT ADOBE PREMIERE. There software is not fucking good...its to fucking hard to figure out. I just want to be able to take my vids, cut them into frames, maybe blue a section or bulge another or add words in one section or add music to another section..all i get with fucking premiere is a picture of 2 videos that are wierd and like a thing at the bottom showing where the sound and video is but no editing stuff ughh

I highly reccomend PowerDirector 3 over Adobe Premeier 6.5.

Advantages of PowerDirector over Premier
-Not as much as a Cpu hog
-More effects and transistions
-Better GUI
-Bundled with Dvd Authoriting Software (make menus and chapters, etc.)
-More stable (Premier can not handle a 1.5 GB movie file while PowerDirector handles it like a knife through butter)
-Has just as many options as Premeir
-Does not take forever to load
-Has the option to do Picture in Picture (It is very easily configurable, you can just click and drag and resize the picture to the size and position you want it)
-Has internal burning software so you don&#39;t have conflicts between programs

I&#39;ve tried a lot of editing software (Adobe Premier 6.5, Ulead VideoStudio 7, Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2, PowerDirector, Windows MovieMaker 2, DvdIt&#33;) and this is my favorite. I grabbed a copy off (m)irc.

Well I dont need a TON of effect if i cant fucking use them haha. Adobe has a ton..but how the fuck can I break a file into diff frames???? UGH...I need something easy to use with some editing stuff...dont need a TON.

First of all, you REALLY need to work on your patience. You just don&#39;t learn something right up. If you want the best, you will have to learn the best. And Adobe Premiere is there. It takes time at first, but once you get used to the GUI and the functions, it&#39;ll flow smoother.

it will came with video editing software
you dsaid you don&#39;t have a firewire on your pc, well duh most don&#39;t did you check to see if its even a option on your camera
if so you will have to buy a firewire card for you pc
mine came with Pinnacle and was pretty easy

I can just buy the USB cord from my camera to my PC..ill just keep working with adobe i guess..thanks for your help
