Yeah, quite a few high end boards have it but it's one of those features that only certain people use so it rarely comes as standard.
Just get yourself a Firewire PCI card.

I thought it was pretty standard now, my year and a half old PC upstairs has it.
Yea my mobo (which is more than a year old) has 2 firewire connections, as well as bluetooth support B)

Not deluxe though. And if you want to use firewire, you would need to get something else. Cheap becomes expensive when you don't know what you should buy ;)

Its a cable that goes from my digital camcorder to my PC. They have USB and Firewire...I heard USB 2.0 was faster then Firewire newayz..or almost the same...So I will just get the USB one.

My Epox 8RDA3+ has a handy Firewire Bracket PCI slot, so thats 2 ports right there, and it has the connector on the mobo for a 3rd, which is being used by my front Firewire for my Antec Case.
Kinda cheap your ASUS doesnt have firewire.

maybe it has something to do with (even tho it can be used for other things) firewire's most popular use being for audio/video accessories.
here's Nvidia's explanation of their MCP-T chip--
http://www.nvidia.com/object/feature_dmg.html
not all Nforce boards include it, so the ones that have software-based audio solutions instead of the MCP-T sound chip are prolly the ones that are less likely to include firewire.
so... going by the fact that even Nvidia use a single chip for both audio and firewire on their motherboards, i'd suppose audio chip companies found that it was easy or convenient to integrate firewire onto the audio controller? i can't think of any other explanation... but there might be a better one, i guess.
