Yes. It is hard to beat a casserole made in a slow sooker. I dont think we use them enough.

They work really well with cheap cuts, as the meat has a lot of time to tenderise. So you can ensure it is cooked thorougly, without drying it out.

That explains it then, I prefer lean meat. Caramelized and crisp on the outside, but tender inside. That is why a really hot griddle is a must.

If I remember correctly, haggis is boiled sheep or calf (maybe just sheep) :( stomach with the liver, heart, and lungs inside of it.
