Large Playlist Causes Lockup

I had to format my HD and decided to backup my music by creating a large playlist. I figured I could just download most of my music library that way. when I load my playlist (over 1000 songs) Kazaa lite dosen't like to handle it and just freezes or closes.
Is there anyway I can cut the playlist into several smaller lists?
Is there any way to have the playlist download more than 3 songs at a time?

Th files in the playlist? or Kazaa prog files?

it cold be files it your shared folder or db folder
