Hey, my friend got bann from a local forum, and we would like to know how to change his IP. He is connected through a router, so it cant mess that up or anything...are there any programs that will let him change his IP or a CMD promt? When he changes it through linksys it wont let him access internet at all really...any help? Sorry..typed that in like 30 seconds lol

he can turn off his modem and after about 8-12 hours it should give him a new ip or he could learn proxies

It depends on how are you connect. it you use PPPOE than you could just disconnect/reconnect and you should get a new ip each time.

Well we changed his IP through the linksys site, and under IPCONFIG on CMD it says his IP has changes but he is still blocked from the page...wierd..oh well.

are u sure he changed his wan ip, and not his local ip.

to change his wan ip, go into the router config, and there is an option to release or renew the ip, and do that,

ipconfig only gives local ip :)

hit the proxies in my sig and go there and ask and they will take care of you :lol:

alright ill try that when we get back to his house...im at school now...where will he get to router config?

if its the defualt setup, then u type 192.168.1.1 into web browser, and the user is usually admin, and password admin, unless he has changed it.

Also check the cookies in the cache, the site could be identifying him from that. (assuming its not the ip address they are using to block him.)

You may want to delete any cookies stored from that site.

When you dial in through modem or isdn, you get everytime a new ip adress.
