if its a basic 1 for travel then i suggest an IBM THinkpad

otherwise, its gotta be an Alienware

alienware is too expensive. u can buy the exact same system for much less by other companies. so far, alienware can only go as far as putting a 9600 on a laptop. well, ibuypower can do that too for much less

NO HP NO HP NO HP NO HP NO HP NO HP NO HP. 2 of my friends have HP laptops, and as a matter of fact im on one right now! when i touch the bottom of it it literaly burns me. Its so freaking hot. Slow, not very good at all. Dell has the best stuff, and AWESOME support. I had a Dell deminsion before I built my new one, and could call them, tell them my monitor was broken, and id have a new one shipped 2 me almost immediatly! DONT GO THERE, GO DELL haha ;)

im on a compaq myself, itwhat i use most the time, i find it very good. well built.

i know its a little hot, but all laptops ive had a shot of or used havent been any hotter. its an evo n1015v. athlon 1500, 320, 20gb/

when left on it runs pretty quiet too, (unles running folding@home)

infatc i would say its near silent, u can hear the ocasionaly hdd seek. and the fan never kicks in when left runnning emule overnight or anything.

Yep, Toshiba makes good laptops.

But btw, one word of advice when buying a laptop.

Centrino.

I repeat, centrino.
