Hi There,
I got 15gigs of webspace and i want to "give" my bro a gig of space.
So for example: www.bob.mydomain.com or
www.mydomain.com/bob
Is there a way i can asign 1 gig of space to that sub directory?
Thnx

is it a local hosted site, or a hosting company.

u coudl maybe ask them to do it, although im not to sure, or u could just make the folder /bob on your server, which would be accesibile via www.domain.com/bob/ and just let him upload.

i dont think there would be a script, but u may be able to give different permisiions to that folder, so that only he has acces.

infatc, u may be able to make a access script, so that he can upload things via that, and that so only 1 gig can be uploaded.

Umm, you can write a program that checks the size of the folder and if its more than 1 gig then it emails you. I dont know if you can assign that much space yourself through conventional ways.

Otherwise just create a sub domain that points to a folder and give him the password. But using ftp he can upload to other dir's as well. Talk to your hosting company and see what they say about it.

If he dosn't need to transfer big files via FTP, but can upload them the traditional way (via Browser) then you may want to look for a "File Manager" at Hot Scripts (http://hotscripts.com)
