Can someone please recommend a decent cd-rw drive that is external and uses USB (not usb 2.0 though). I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, but I need the drive to be reliable. I will be using it to burn data, music, and VCDs. So if someone could recommend a brand they use, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

If you don't want USB 2.0 then be ready for something really slow.

What about firewire? Any faster?
Thanks, I didn't realize usb ones were a lot slower (define slower please: 4x, 8x, 16x, or less than 4x  )

Thanks for the reply

Thought i saw a firewire one, but I'm probably just going crazy. 4x is definately not worth it because thats what I just had.

Ok, changing my options, what INTERNALS would you guys recommend? One that supports overburn would be really good (for my vcds).

Thanks for the help

Awesome, I'm not crazy!

Honestly though, I think at this point I would rather get an Internal though.
Any that can read DVDs?

Thanks for the link
