I have Win98 & XPpro installed on different hard drives.
When you boot the computer a menu comes up giving you the option of what operating system you want.
I want to format Win98 & start again but want to leave XPpro alone.
How can i find and re-copy this menu to the new Win98 install?
The boot menu has to be in Win98 as Win98 is C drive & the computer boots from C drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
But please give it to me step by step.

use the nt bootloader to boot windows 98.

copy the boot.ini file you are using now and then copy the line that boots win98 into your win xp version it will then give you the choice at startup.

the boot.ini file is located at c:\ and is hidden, system and read only

so either go to a command prompt and type

attrib -h -r -s

or try msconfig and their is a boot.ini tab there to edit this file.

I'll have it one time. My father installed XP and I still was having Win98 (SE) -
Now, I only have Win98 (SE) - I think it is during installing, isn't it? I could
ask my father.
