I just installed Linux Mandrake 9.1 on my laptop. When I installed it, everything went well. When I restarted my PC, and I started Linux, everything went well until it just stoped at:

Starting pcmcia: _

Does anyone know what the problem is? :(

I dont have your pc or laptop. I cant just magically tell you what to do.

You need to be courteous enough to at least post your pc and specs and elaborate more on the error your receiving . <_<

You need to boot the system in verbose mode or interactive startup. Thats when it ask you yes or no which services you want to start while the system is booting.

It varies in ever distro. In redhat you can press I for the interactive startup right before its starts bringing up the services automatically.

For mandrake just try to hit the escape key before it brings up the services, when you get to verbose mode say yes to all the other services and NO when it ask if you want to start pcmcia. the system should boot and then you can go to the mandrake control center and try to start pcmcia service manually.
