Best File Sharing Programmes

in what order do u think is the best file sharing programmes i think

kazaa
emule
shenza or somthing...

i only use kazza now but maybe the replys to come could make me use another :huh:

I mostly use K-lite, been the best for me. But I use Soulseek for downloading complete albums :P

Ok, if you want to max out your upload speed AND download roughly that fast or faster virtually 24/7...

Get BitTorrent when you KNOW what files you want -- there's web links for 'servers' sharing just those files.

BUT... BitTorrent is very hard on Win 9x/ME boxes because it opens lots of connections at once -- so only run 1 or 2 BitTorrents at a time. :)

I'm running it in conjunction with Kazaa Lite++ v2.1 and BearShare v4.3.0beta20. BearShare's just for chatting, BitTorrent is for getting exactly what I want asap, and Kazaa is just for finding 'nothing in particular'. :)

I use eMule to get the new releases as they spread really slow on Kazaa

But any Mp3s and "older" files i get from Kazaa as when the files are common or older then they go faster on kazaa. And eMule is shit for mp3s...

I use a few, Bittorrent and FTP is by far the best, then emule+ once you have a good client base i can get 100KBs on that now, and thats good for ISO, then kazaa for game rips and viruses :P . seem to get a lot of those on kazaalite and none on the others.

but out of all i use i would say kazaa was the worst :o , sorry to say this as this is a kazaa forum but there are a lot better sharing programs out there. Probably a lot worse out there than kazaalite as well ive just never used them.

I wish more people would move to emule, as I see it the only thing limiting it really are the number of people on the network at any one time (750 tho -> million). Emules brilliant if you leave your connnection on all the time. I repeatedly get download speeds I didn&#39;t think were possible (sometimes a steady 90k/s on a 512k connection) highest consistent speed i had before I tried it was little bit over 60.

I&#39;m off to try soulseek after all the good stuff i just heard about it

Pro&#39;s

- eMule has a lot of quality files on it&#39;s network (new stuff, isos)
- lots of hashes to those files
- very good error correction
- people can&#39;t see your shared files
- partial files are shared
- leeching is more difficult

Con&#39;s

- Some people say it&#39;s slower, I don&#39;t have problems with that.


I use it more as K-Lite.


eMule is for the latest releases and cd images (games/software)
Kazaa Lite is for music, porn and other files

Shareaza has a really nice interface, very similar to Kazaa but better in some ways (like multiple simultaneous searches). However, since it uses the Gnutella network instead of Fasttrack you won&#39;t find nearly as many files as with KL.
