What was your vCore when it was on auto?
Is your memory running synchronous?
Is your system stable at these settings?
Where are your temp readings coming from?
40 degC sounds kinda high for case ambient.
Does that drop significantly if you remove your sidepanel?

That is a pretty significant jump you plan on making.
Ah, good luck...I guess.

Much Better :P
Take a look here (http://www.sysopt.com/articles/VCOGuide/), it tells you how and gives you some software you can use and everything

That is fine, you dont necessarily have to fix that,
just hit the costumoize button, the hit low level settings i think, the adjust your memory or core speed to whatever you want, hint: your memory will oc much easier then your core speed. then hit test, then save, it, then hit apply

But those are only with the most GODLY of steppings on them. Hard to find them these days, and also, for that 2.5Ghz, nearly all of the people I remember seeing had their Vcore up towards the 2.2V range.
