Hey guys,

Need a little help here. Recently i've noticed that when i pause my downloads and resume them at a later time the file dumps and i have to download the entire thing all over again. Any suggestions?

Dont pause your downloads!

Download one at a time until complete - it's much more efficient use of your bandwidth.

We've all seen this effect and it is frustrating but it appears to be that what you see on your traffic screen and what is actually downloaded to your PC are not one and the same thing. Muesliman says the traffic screen stuff is only an estimate and this may be the answer.

Why is this the wrong section? He's got a problem/question and that's where we are?

If you're not part of the solution then you may be part of the problem!

I've been having a closer look at this because I've experienced the same effect with Torrents. There it seems to be a function of the client you use. Shadow produces significant losses whereas Azureus loses little or none.

What I have found with Clean KMD is that closing the client and/or shutting down results in a data loss but if I pause the downloads before closing down I lose nothing.

If I pause the download then restart it without closing the client then again I lose nothing.

If this data loss is client related (as with Bittorrent) and you are not using Clean KMD you might want to consider changing.
