I need some software that can alert me when my computer's temprature is too high.
The reason for this is I recently moved my whole system into my closet with foam padding to reduce it's 50 db total sound from all the cooling fans down to a nice 12-15 db. It's been working great too. All i do to access the cd drives is open my closet up. (i only use them to burn things once in awhile, but mostly run all my apps off virtual cds).
I can finally get a good nights rest "With" the computer on hopefully.

Here are my pc's current temp stats:

System Temp: 47 C
CPU Temp: 58 C
Fan Speed: 4821

is this ok? It's been on for about 3 hours in the closet so far.

edit: I just put a modern size fan next to it on Medium speed, with a layer of pillows covering the front, size, and top all around the pc+modern fan.
The pc's current temp stats are now:

System Temp: 39 C
CPU Temp: 50 C
Fan Speed: 4821

What temps does it take to blow a pc?
I heard when the CPU is around 70 C.

you are ok, but that is pretty hot... what cooling are you using?
Your basic cpu fan with a slightly rectangulare heat sink (that damn thing makes atleast 40 db noise), and currently added a modern fan runnin at slowest (lol and it's actually not as loud as the cpu fan)

I'm thinkin about upgradein mine to that 20db Zalman CNPS7000

i took away the pillows.. they didnt add much sound reduction.
The closet doors being closed instantly cuts off atleast 15db of sound.

So If i made the cpu fan go from 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm, will that hurt it?
