Ok...you guys are boring the fuck outta me  . I have been working with the hammer(worldcraft) inclucded with the leak of half life 2...trying to get a feel for the new engine and new abilities. I'm quite familiar with half life and counter-strike editing so I wanted to do the same with half life 2. Of course, since it was leaked, the editor isn't fully functional. Not all the models (barrels, streetlights, comptuers)load for the entities(prop_physics, prop_static, prop_dynamic). I will be able to do a shit load more once it's officialy released, but for now, I can really only make brushes and do whatever I want with them. The terrain in half life 2 basicly sucks. All it is, is a brush that has a displacement and you manipulate it. It was hell making cliffs close to the ones in the d2_coast maps; Though I think I did an "OK" job. These are some screens of my map(just named it town...not going to release just a test area for me working with the new editor and engine...trying to see all I can do with it.).

The map doesn't look all that good in the editor view. It's set at night...I would have added street lights, but...well...since I have no street light...the light itself would be originating from no source...it looks stupid. Picture being outside in darkness and you look up to see a light...a light in mid air...without a bulb or a pole...you get the picture...
I'll wait untill the oficial to add objects like that. Anyway the blue texture at the top(the ceiling of this huge box area) is the sky texture. It tells the game to load the certain sky texture I have set in the options menu in the editor. Maybe I get an in game screen in a minute.
EDIT: Click to enlarge ;)
EDIT 2: Also the road texture is much darker in game; Not because its night time, because for some reason its light gray in the editor...but dark like a road in the game.
