Hi again,

I was looking into using Stardock to customise my desktop and wondered if anyone has used it and if so how straightforward it is and more importantly how stable? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Zero :)

I used to use it...its not very stable on 98, but it good on XP.

Its pretty easy to use, but it can be difficult if ur trying to create ur own theme. Go to , www.wincustomize.com (http://www.wincustomize.com)and download themes to use w/ desktopX

I use Stardocks "Object Dock", quite nice, be warned that when you run your mouse over it it uses a fair bit of cpu, so expect it to lag a bit if you are using CPU heavy applications, i.e. encoding mp3's

Very customizable though, nice icons

Style xp can theme your desktop just as good.

Some stardock apps are not that stable. I believe object dock is still in beta, its crap. Desktop x is crap as well. The only decent app they have ever came out with is icon packager and now style xp can do that as well. If your going to use stardock app then windowblinds is ok, but loading your pc up with a whole stardock suite will just bloat your box and crash it frequently. And Im sure there are people out there that disagree.....................oh well. B)
