Well phpBB is open source I belive but you'll need a host to upload content. Also depending on users, you're bandwith would need to be pretty high. I doubt you could have a free forum on a free website that also allows MySQL etc... The forum would collapse after 10 users started posting.

Try DarkBlizzard (http://www.darkblizzard.com/) as a website host, prices are extremely good. Just have to look into how much bandwith and webspace you'll need. How many users are you planning on having? Maybe 7th could help you on the exact details...

The best free forum software IMO is Invision Power Board. The best forum software, again, IMO, is vBulletin. :)

The only thing that costs is support, extras, and removing the link in the footer.

:P

That is simply a trial, in which you can use forever.

Besides the fact that it has an unlimited trail offer, does not mean it is free. ;)

Still not convinced, eh?

Say Invision Power Board is Adobe Photoshop, just because you can download the "trail" version off of their website, dosn't mean the software is free.

I would know, I have worked for Invision Power Board before. ;) (And no, that is not a joke)

LOL, NightStalker, that was obviously a joke. :P I know it's not free, but many people interpret an infinite trial as being so.

And I do believe you when you say you were an IPS employee -- you certainly seem smart and knowledgeable enough. :)

So, did you have night sessions as former invisioneer = invision engineer ;)

If you see any of your mates there, best greeting from me ;)
