Looking For A Guide Guide

A strange request I know but..

I was on here friday and someone linked to an Advice kind of website like Tomshardware... (Not sure if it was that one or not) and there was a really good guide on how to wire up front USB ports and headphone ports etc.
But for the life of me I can't find it again now! :angry: :angry:
Anyone got any suggestions??

it should be a simple as putting the right plugs into the little pins - the tricky part is working out which is which, you could try reading the motherboard with a torch and magnifying glass combination, or if you have it the manual should tell you what's what

That information on a site probably wouldn't do you any good due to the inconsistent layouts of audio and USB headers across manufacturers.
The only way to get it right is to read your mobo manual and match up the pins to the connectors coming from the front panel.

One thing most (if not all motherboards) have in common is that the triangle on the connector represents positive.

Look for which pins are for which device first on the motherboard manual and connect the connector to those pins with the triangle side of connector placed on the pin that has the + markings for each device.

You may need to read this a few times for it to make sense :lol:

With USB, it may be difficult to connect because the pins don't always correspond to the connector wires from the case. You need to read the manual carefully on this one.

It doesn't show the pins and it won't be your board but it will tell you what R-RET,EAR L and the rest mean.
