did you right click and do properties on your hard drive. Windows does not always report the right amount on the hard drive. Or you could right click on my computer and then click on manage then go to Disk Management, what does it report there.

I have the same HD,

A HD never has the FULL 120 GB because 1 GB is not 1000 MB exactly.
so when you have a BIG HD it looks like more GB is gone ;) ...

The reason you never see all the GB that the label says is there, is because HDD manufacturers lie about the capacity.
Lie? Yes, they like to think of 1GB as 1000MB, when the rest of the hardware community thinks of 1GB as 1024MB.
When a HDD manufacturer says it's a 120GB drive, they really mean it's a 120,000MB drive... if you divide 120,000MB by the 1024 MBs there are in 1GB, you get a little over 117. The rest of what's missing disappears in overheads I myself have never fully bothered to understand or worry about.

This is a very common question.
